STANDALONE UPDATE REQUIREMENTS

Make sure that the security device shown below is attached to your printer port on the back of your computer prior to using JOBS5.

To allow JOBS5 to see this security device, you will need to install a security device DRIVER and SERVER. Follow these steps and JOBS5 should be able to see the security device without any problems.

TO INSTALL THE SENTINEL SYSTEM DRIVER AND SERVER:
Before you install the security driver and server you need to make sure that you have TCP/IP and NETBEUI network protocols installed. If they are NOT installed then do the following:

Select START, SETTINGS, and CONTROL PANEL
Double click on NETWORK
Select ADD, ADAPTOR, MICROSOFT, DIAL-UP ADAPTOR
Select ADD, PROTOCOL, MICROSOFT, NETBEUI
Select START, RUN and type "c:\jobs5\bin\setupalone.exe" and press OK
NOTE: If this file is not found, you can download it from our website www.pesco.org.
If your PC doesn't reboot, please reboot it.
When finished, try to run jobs5.

NOTE: If you have either of the following security devices then you have the WRONG (older) security device model. These models were only used with JOBSI, JOBSII, and JOBSIII. These security devices are NOT COMPATIBLE with JOBSV!

After installing the new security key and drivers, you might still encounter problems with PESCO products finding the key. This could be due to a PRINTER PORT MODE issue. We recommend the following modes:
ECP, AT, and PS/2
On DELL PC's you should first try the PS/2 mode
After the mode is changed in the BIOS, you will need to:
1) UNINSTALL the SENTINEL DRIVER in the ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS option in the CONTROL PANEL.
2) REBOOT your PC
3) INSTALL the SENTINEL DRIVER by running "x:\jobs5\bin\setupalone.exe"
4) REBOOT your PC
5) TEST to see if it worked
